ViGo Bioenergy, a leading low-carbon fuel network provider for heavy transport, has been awarded a bioLNG supplier agreement to support Asda’s UK HGV operations.

Asda is widely recognised as a leader in decarbonising heavy road freight in the UK, with a long-standing commitment to low-carbon logistics and continued investment in alternative fuels and refuelling infrastructure. This partnership supports Asda’s wider sustainability goals of delivering net zero operations by 2040.

Following a successful rollout period, six bioLNG refuelling stations are now operational at Asda depots across England and Wales, providing convenient, depot-based access to bioLNG for Asda’s growing fleet of over 780 LNG-powered HGVs.

ViGo is providing a complete end-to-end refuelling solution, including verified bioLNG supply, station planning and delivery, operations and maintenance, remote monitoring, driver support and training, and 24/7 expert in-house technical assistance to help ensure reliable performance and continuity of service.

By enabling dependable access to verified bioLNG at depot level, ViGo is helping Asda decarbonise heavy transport while maintaining the operational performance required for their nationwide distribution of goods. BioLNG is an established low-carbon fuel for HGVs and, depending on the feedstock, can deliver more than 200% CO₂ savings compared to diesel.

Guillaume Quiviger, Chief Executive Officer at ViGo Bioenergy, said:

“Asda has set the pace in decarbonising heavy road freight in the UK, and we’re proud to support. This agreement is about more than fuel supply—it’s about delivering a reliable, depot-based solution that shows the wider logistics industry that adopting bioLNG can be accessible and cost-effective. Together with Asda, we’re demonstrating what it takes to decarbonise heavy transport at scale and accelerating confidence in low-carbon fuels and infrastructure.”

John Rogerson, Central Fleet Operations Manager at Asda, said:

“BioLNG is a leading, lower carbon alternative to diesel and forms an essential part of how we are working to reduce the overall carbon emission. Our partnership with ViGo Bioenergy ensures we have the right infrastructure to support our growing fleet and meet the demands of our fast-paced, nationwide supply chain.”
